For every new home built there are two EPC requirements. Firstly, an EPC needs to be submitted to the Building Control Officer in order for the final completion certificate to be signed off. Secondly, the EPC is required to be shown to prospective buyers or tenants.

Furthermore, any building work done to an existing home which creates or combines a separate dwelling which has heating and/or air conditioning, will also require an EPC to be compliant with Building Regulations, Approved Inspector Regulations and the Energy Performance of Buildings Regulations.
